About Democratic Sangha

Our Work

Democratic Sangha is a social reform organisation established by Brahmachari Chaitanya a student of Renowned Social Reformer and Activist Swami Agnivesh. Its purpose is to address and overcome four principal scourges of Indian society.

  • Casteism, Discrimination, Dogma and Communalism
  • Educational Inequity
  • Injustice and Violence against women
  • Degradation of our Politics

  • Democratic Sangha addresses these issues with the following Programs and Campaigns
  • Right to Education : Build awareness and aid in admissions of children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections into private schools under Section 121(C) of the Right to Education Act which mandates private schools a 25 percent reservation into Grade 1 for children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections
  • Rural women's leadership program : The flagship Rural Women's Leadership Program works to build leadership of women at the grassroots. It empowers women to become advocates of development and change in the villages. The program is a capacity building platform in 12 key areas for women at the grassroots
  • Doubt Debate and Dissent : Promoting the habit of thinking, debate and discussion among citizens and mobilise public opinion for reforms in society, governance and polity
  • Legal Advocacy : to bring justice to the poor and keep a check on governance through filing Public Interest Litigations and Right to Information
